Things are rolling now! The last few weeks have been busy, busy, busy! Here’s what’s going on with Lynn Steven…
Gastown Shop Hop
The Gastown Shop Hop is this Thursday — December 3rd — from 5pm to 9pm. Since the Lynn Steven store at 225 Carrall Street is in the midst of construction, we’re going to preview what Lynn Steven has to offer in a “Pop-Up Shop” at 330 West Cordova.
We’ll be offering 20% off all merchandise, and we’ll be open all day. Join us after 5pm for tasty treats and Christmas bubbly.
Construction
Construction is ongoing. After demolition was completed we took a tour of the space with our design team from McFarlane Green Biggar and made a few tweaks to the design. Of course a few tweaks also means new drawings and plans, and therefore a short delay.
Everything’s been sorted out, and it’s full steam ahead! The target date for opening is set at December 17th! So save some of that Christmas shopping!

Branding & Marketing
You might have noticed the new logo and wordmark. As I’ve mentioned previously, the MGB design team and I have been revisiting the Lynn Steven logo and branding materials to better reflect the look and feel of the store.
Some people have already mentioned that they prefer the old one, but Andrew and I are very happy with the new logo. We think it’s a timeless design and one that supports the vision we have for Lynn Steven.
Guest Blogging
I’ve been guest blogging over at Scout Magazine for the past month and a half. I’m contributing a weekly post discussing the process of opening the store, and it hasn’t been easy! There have been weeks where it seemed like there wasn’t much to report on. This post seems to have generated the most discussion on Scout; it seems like the topic of Gastown has a polarizing effect on readers.
