Unfortunately the Save Your Skin Foundation benefit we’d planned with SKN Clinic this Thursday, June 9th has been postponed.
SKN is a excellent clinic, and the Save Your Skin Foundation is doing great work to spread skin cancer awareness, so we hope to be able to partner with both of them soon. Keep your eyes peeled for information on an upcoming fundraising event.

On Thursday, June 9th between 5pm and 8pm, LYNNsteven is partnering with SKN Clinic to benefit the Save Your Skin Foundation, a Vancouver-based organization dedicated to spreading education and awareness of skin cancer. LYNNsteven and SKN will be donating a portion of sales as well as proceeds from the evening’s raffle.
We’ll also be showcasing designer Joanne Salt’s fabulous new JOSA tulum line, featuring their gorgeous caftans. Sexy enough for the beach, yet chic enough for a night out on the town. Joanne was featured in June’s Elle Canada as a designer to watch.
Representatives from SKN Clinic will be at LYNNsteven to discuss which products you should be using daily to ensure your skin is being protected and supported from UVA and UVB damage. You will be shocked to learn the truth about sunscreen and how dangerous choosing the wrong one can be.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win some great prizes, including a Josa tulum caftan — a $250 value. Tickets are available instore, 1 for $5 or 3 for $10.
You might be wondering why LYNNsteven is hosting an event raising funds for The Arthritis Society. Arthritis is one of Canada’s most common chronic illnesses, and it is something that I have personally lived with since I was in Grade One.
With the upcoming Walk to Fight Arthritis, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share my story and hopefully educate people on the effects this disease has on people of all ages. Arthritis is not just your Grandmother’s disease!

As you all know my wonderful stylist Dan was diagnosed with Leukemia back in November. This Monday, February 14th Lure Salon is holding “Cut for the Cure” at the salon. Further details are in a previous post.
The salon has just announced that Dan’s agent, Gina Hole, from THEYrep is having Halle Berry’s personal makeup artist come to the salon and do makeup for a minimum $50 donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Norma Hill-Patton has been Halle Berry’s makeup artist for the past 8 years and was the Makeup Designer for TWILIGHT: NEW MOON for Robert Pattinson & Dakota Fanning! She has worked on celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Swank, Sir Paul McCartney and Hugh Jackman.

I am happy to report that they are fully booked for haircuts but still have some openings for blow outs on February 14th.
The Canadian Blood Services will be onsite until 4:30pm to shuttle people to the clinic for blood donations. They also have lots of amazing items up for our silent auction and yummy food from the Lazy Gourmet and Cafe Medina.

Today we turned one! It is hard to believe how quickly a year can go by. It had been an amazing year for us, a year of learning what it takes to run a business. A lot of ups and downs that is for sure, mostly ups though!!
