We love fall here at LYNNsteven and one of the reasons is so we can cozy up in a Granted sweater. This season they have come out with some new patterns and colours. We have also brought in size XXS for those who wanted a bit of a snugger fit and XL for the guys. Here is a sneak peek at what is new. We have lots of other styles available at the shop.

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of hosting a number of Vancouver’s lifestyle and fashion media plus other special guests to preview our fall/winter and holiday collections.
Guests dined on a delicious lunch from Culinary Capers while sipping mimosas. Models snaked through the store showcasing looks by Granted Clothing, Corey Lynn Calter, Mcginn and Twinkle by Wenlan.
A big thank you to Vanguard PR, Culinary Capers, Sumac Ridge, JK Models, Suki’s, Beautymark, Namasthe Tea, Libre Tea, my face works, Olla Flower Project in Gastown, Pureology, Green Sapphire, Alternative Apparel, Dominic Designs, Miel, Top Seceret, Ellen Ho from Hong Photography, Rebbeca Blair, Jordan Christy author of “How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World” and of course the many people who attended our event.
With fall in the air there is nothing better than putting on a cozy sweater. Good thing we have received our Granted Clothing delivery.
If you are not familiar with this amazing Vancouver brand, here is the scoop…
Granted is a family business independently run and operated right here in Vancouver. They use traditional knitting methods and have been labeled a new and unique genre of neo-vintage clothing. Their classic inspired sweaters and accessories are made from 100% pure new wool.
Although the Granted label debuted in 2007, their hand-knitting business was established in 1978. The designers of Granted, a brother sister duo, remember growing up with knitting needles and bags of yarn everywhere. The founders of the business, their parents, ran a successful cottage industry for many years and so as time passed it was only natural for the children to come on board with a new chapter to the company.
Granted uses only the highest selected quality of pure new wool. Each of their items are meticulously knit by hand and go through strict quality control before they reach stores. You may find that some of their garments have wood zipper pulls. These signature pieces are hand-crafted on Vancouver Island using only salvaged yew wood. Each piece is unique and represents the hand-made nature of their brand.
Fresh off Monday night’s shout-out on eTalk, the crew from Granted Clothing took over LYNNsteven for a photoshoot supporting their fall/winter 2010 collection. Granted Owners Minoru and Ai spent the morning taking advantage of the unique design of the boutique to capture their fabulous creations for the coming season.

Getting Ready
Granted Clothing is a hand knit brand started by siblings Ai, Minoru and Mika. Although the brand is relatively new, the company itself has been around since 1978 when it was established by their parents.
Granted designs and crafts premium knits with a contemporary/urban flare, all locally here in Vancouver. They use various types of wool including pure new wool, merino wool and a new premium type called possum blend — possum fibres blended into merino wool.

Hamming it up
Granted’s first set of collections — debuting in 2007 — show ironic images, bold colours and original styles. Their specialty is a technique called intarsia knitting where pictures or blocks of colour are designed into the garment.
In a time when everything is mass produced without much thought and care, Granted takes pride in hand knitting each of their garments using renewable materials. Even their buttons and zipper pulls are made from reclaimed wood found around BC forests.
Two of this season’s most popular items — the Lumber Jack Vest and Deer Love Toque — can be found at LYNNsteven.
