New Line | Jeunesse

Posted by Nicole on February 3rd, 2012

Launched in the resort 2012 season, Jeunesse is a truly unique fashion concept conceived by AIKO Creative Director Cynthia Mittweg. Mittweg plans to experiment with collaborations each season, focusing on one specialty item per partnership. The inaugural effort: a wear-forever blouse designed with stylist Cristina Ehrlich. “I feel as though women are enjoying luxury and dressing up on some level again,” says Mittweg. “Cristina has an incredible collection of vintage blouses and wears them often.”

We can’t wait to see the next collaboration but for now we are loving this one!

New Arrivals | A Peace Treaty Fall 2011

Posted by Nicole on September 30th, 2011

A PEACE TREATY is an evolving collection aimed at creating ethically-produced, artisan-level accessories and apparel for the luxury fashion marketplace.

For F/W 2011 A PEACE TREATY presents a collection of whimsical cashmere prints and weaves — a result of APT turning to the France of Les Trente Glorieuses. The Glorious Thirty — a period following the end of the second world war during which France’s fashion, film and art industries experienced rapid growth and innovation — provided a break with the traditional paradigm. Artists engaged with the political and social upheaval surrounding them and an invisible revolution was seen through the aesthetic of that era from the plastic arts to the films of La Nouvelle Vague. In a collection of playful prints and bright patterns, APT channels this period of prosperity and optimism.

Evoking this thirty-year spirit of youth and innovation, APT once again travelled to the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal. Here, Neplai artisans, in their workshops, were engaged to re-enliven the skill and precision of tradtional hand-craftsmanship passed down through generations. Using the shedding hairs of mountain goats, these artisans separate and hand-weave the finest and silkiest hairs into the vibrant visual patterns A PEACE TREATY has created. Artisans also hand-carve patterns into screens used to hand-print APT’s fanciful prints onto the softest of cashmere.

New Line | James Jeans

Posted by Nicole on September 14th, 2011

As many of you know it has been sometime since we had a denim line at the shop. Like many of you I too have a tough time finding that perfect fit. One that does not dig into you when you sit down and one that flatters in all the right places. Well I think we have found that jean. Introducing James Jeans! I was actually working at Holt Renfrew back in the day when this line was launched and it is still amazing.

Based in Los Angeles, James Jeans is a sophisticated denim line created by husband and wife duo James and Seun Lim. Seun, who excelled at couture pattern making, drapes each and every pattern by hand, constantly updating and perfecting the fit. Fashion-forward but never overly trendy, James Jeans enjoys a devoted following of women who want to feel comfortable, confident, and sexy in expertly cut jeans.

We are currently stocking the Twiggy which is the perfect skinny jean. Come in and give them a try. We promise you’ll love them.

New Line | Ela Handbags

Posted by Nicole on September 9th, 2011

We love to support amazing Canadian talent here at LYNNsteven. When we first saw ela handbags we fell in love and knew we had to have the line at the shop. We are super exicted to be carrying their signature clutch M.I.L.C.K. (money/id/lipstick/cell/keys). We have five amazing colours to choose from.

The basis of ela is the idea of humble luxury, where refined and sophisticated silhouettes strive to showcase, rather than upstage, the wearer. From subtle asymmetry to luxe hardware and leather, every design element is infused with a high level of craftsmanship, materials and a signature aesthetic.

It was while working in public relations at Hermès Canada when Ela Kowalewska developed a passion for leather goods, and an understanding for high-end craftsmanship and design. She later held a post at Burberry in London, England, and decided it was time to further explore her love of handbags. In 2008, a chance meeting with Jimmy Choo (who also saw her sketches) reassured her path. ela’s co founder, Martin Aldorsson comes from a background in marketing and advertising. His portfolio includes positions at global agencies BBDO New York, and McCann Erickson in London. Most recently, he served as the brand manager for Havaianas in North America.

New Line | ODYLYNE

Posted by Nicole on September 3rd, 2011

We at LYNNsteven are always trying to introduce new line and designers to the shop and to you. We are thrilled to introduce you to ODYLYNE from Los Angeles.

ODYLYNE, is derived from all things beautiful. A simple concept and blend of bohemian and vintage styles with a touch of modern, clean lines. The inspiration behind the designs are also deeply rooted in the hippie chic world…where female artist set trends while breaking the rules of tongue-in-cheek fashion. The concept stays true to its original theme of creating the whimsical drama of mystery and sexiness without all the fuss. It just feels good and makes being a goddess pretty damn effortless.

Here is a peek at some of the amazing pieces we have at the shop. The dresses are made of the finest jersey and feel amazing on! Note that the Whistler Dress is available in black only at the shop.

New Line | We Are Owls

Posted by Nicole on August 22nd, 2011

Launching for the Fall 2010 season, We Are Owls was dreamt up by three friends who always put fashion and art in the same sentence. The collection was designed to go beyond accessorizing and practicality, and becomes a reflection of emotions.

Like the nocturnal owl, the founders find themselves awake at all hours of the night and embrace the beauty within dark obscurities. Emulating the birds of prey, We Are Owls brings us a sense of mystery and make their presence as alluring as it is chilling – as enchanted as it is haunting.

The collection carries us into a fantastical world where the lines of distress and desire are blurred. Like its nearly silent counterpart, We Are Owls has caught us off-guard with a stunning collection of carefully developed printed scarves constructed with the finest of cashmere yarns.

We are super excited to have this line at the shop and it just hit the floor today! Here are pics of the pieces we have.
